2016 ninety-one

Abby has LOVED with a capital L learning the pole vault this year!  She seems to have a knack for it & it was fun watching her in action finally today.  Home meet at Central Valley HS.

Ready for the run

It's cool she knows how to do this, because I sure don't

Nice clearance!

Congratulations on a fabulous meet Abs!

2016 ninety

Someone in this house really struggles to let go of the little art projects that come home.  How cute is Tom the Turkey?  I finally took a picture to remember Cal's creation because I just couldn't say goodbye.  Gobble Gobble!

Happy Kids on Easter Morning with some (apparently easy-to-find) baskets filled with gum, peeps, bubbles, & talks on CD for the teens, & treats/art stuff for the littles.

Happy Easter!

My Greatest Miracles

We invited the Blasers down for dinner.  We ate really yummy food & had a great time together!  I still can't believe how sweet & quiet their 6 kids are.  It hardly feels like we have a family of 8 visiting!

And...the bigs at the grown up table

Saturday Easter Celebrations

We had an awesome time at a neighborhood Easter egg hunt put on by our Bishop's family, the Julians.

How cool that the Easter bunny came hopping down the trail right before the hunt began.

Cal's new BFF ha ha

Bree loved it!

This cutie started hunting in the wrong age group area, so I told her to head out to the older kid's section.  She stopped right there & dumped out all of the eggs she had found before heading to the right spot.  I had not expected her to get rid of the eggs she already had, & that made it so her basket was less than full at the end, but she was such a good sport & didn't seem to mind at all.

He scored!

I can't get enough of this guy.  I love everything about him.

Here is the whole hunting crew with the famous Easter Bunny!

In the evening, we had pizza & decorated eggs with the Carters before heading to the local Seventh Day Adventist Church's "Journey to the Cross" production.  It was pretty incredible.

Coloring Eggs!!

Cal, Easton, Breezers

This is very serious business

Abs loves anything artistic or creative so this was right up her alley

Cal's proud of his purple!

While we were waiting for our tour to start, we sat in the chapel and were treated to some upbeat religious music by this band.  The kids were so enthusiastic they really got the performers going.  It was pretty funny.

The last supper reenactment

And...that's all the pictures I took, but it was a great experience and really brought things to life for the kids. Many from the community and other church's step up to volunteer & it is an amazing production.

Abby loved the play "Joseph" at the high school so much that she just HAD to go again.
Cade was dying to see it as well so we dropped these two crazies off for the show, where they had a blast, as you can see from this fabulous selfie.

Our Holy Week Tradition
I love this week probably more than any other week of the year.  Holy Week is 8 days of celebration and worship that focus on the last week of Christ’s life, beginning the Sunday before Easter.  It is based on the book "God so Loved the World" by Eric Huntsman.  Every day includes events that happened in Christ’s life on that specific day, a small activity, scriptures, videos & songs.  By Easter Sunday, our hearts are prepared in understanding and gratitude for the Savior’s atonement and resurrection.
Tonight we had our Passover Meal (well, snack) on a smaller scale than previous years since life is so packed these days.  It still turned out awesome and boy do I love these guys!
Menu-honeycomb, unleavened bread, olives, raisins, swedish fish, and grape juice
Dress-Robes (& sandals or bare feet)

Decisions decisions...
We're trying to decide if we should bite the bullet and get those chickens we've been thinking about for a few years...then we saw these coops at Costco today.  We will see!

Happy Birthday Mick!
We celebrated Mick's big day today with homemade Alice Springs Chicken, sweet potato fries, steamed veggies, pineapple, & cake/ice cream.  Let's just say this guy is very well loved by all of us

Sometime this afternoon Abby must have proceeded to take the carrot cake out on the deck for a photo shoot. ha ha! Mick did say (& I definitely agree) it was the best carrot cake I've made in the 17 years that I've been making this guy carrot cake!

The Frederick Family joined us for dessert & I love how all these cute kids wanted to be in the picture with the birthday boy!
Life sure is good!  Happy Birthday Mickey T.
